Q : Is Katakune a caterpillar?
Err…no…Katakune is actually a silkworm.
Q : What does Katakune mean?
Katakune is a made-up word by one of the creators Aldric Chang. Initially we had designated Katakune to be a caterpillar because of his green color. But somebody pointed out that there were already a few caterpillars in the market, so we re-designated him to be a silkworm. So ‘Kata’ actually stemmed from the word Caterpillar, except it is spelt in a different way. The word ‘kune’ is actually how Japanese call young kids and Aldric thought it sounded great when combined with ‘Kata’, and thus the word ‘Katakune’ was born!
Q : How can Katakune help my child?
Katakune was developed with training and nurturing various facets of a child’s development. Most notably, we differentiate Katakune from the average preschooler show by helping to develop the preschoolers’ EQ so that they grow up to go to school with a positive, sociable and likable attitude. Q : Is it true that a lot of blood, sweat and tears were shed to produce Katakune?
We don’t know who you heard this from, but this statement is absolutely untrue! We shed much more than a lot of blood, sweat and tears! OK, maybe we are exaggerating, but as producers of a preschooler content, we had to put a lot of effort in making sure that we are creating a product of high quality - not only in the creative sense but also out of our sense of responsibility for the pillars of the future. Every script, every design, every color, every dialogue, every movement was scanned and rescanned for fault. Nothing but the best for our young preschoolers!
